Charles M. Rotenberg
Charles “Chuck” Rotenberg has specialized in income tax,
estate planning and tax dispute resolution since 1980.
He advises professionals, business owners and their legal,
accounting and financial advisors, drawing on decades of
private practice, teaching and government tax experience.
His practice involves advising many professionals and small to medium-sized
businesses in tax and related matters and he is often called on to assist lawyers,
accountants and financial advisors with matters related to their clients.
Charles Rotenberg has taught personal and corporate income tax in the Commerce Programme at Carleton University, University of Ottawa Law School and Queen’s University Law School. He has also been an instructor in income tax in the Ontario Bar Admission Course.
In 1991 and 1992, Charles was Tax Counsel, Department of Justice, where he acted in all areas of tax appeals; acting as an advisor to the Tax Avoidance Section and the Corporate Rulings Directorate of Revenue Canada, Taxation (now the Canada Revenue Agency).
He is called upon frequently to speak to members of the financial planning and insurance industries, and writes extensively on tax-related matters.
He is a member of several tax-related professional organizations, including Advocis and the Canadian Tax Foundation, and is a past president of the Ottawa Estate Planning Council. Chuck is on the board and professional advisory councils of several community organizations.
